America's Got Talent host Nick Cannon is listed in stable condition after suffering kidney failure earlier this week. Cannon's wife, pop legend Mariah Carey, tweeted to her millions of followers, updating them on her husband's condition.
"Nick is in stable condition with a good prognosis, hopefully he'll be discharged within 2 days," she wrote on Twitter. "As always he's laughing and in good spirits." The all-around entertainer was checked into an Aspen, Colo., hospital earlier this week to the shock of many of his fans. His condition, acute kidney failure, is usually brought upon by dehydration, diabetes, infection, trauma or kidney stones. It is a silent disease; many suffering from kidney failure don't know about it until they are in a hospital.
Cannon updated his fans on his own, informing them that he's getting back to business, and even telling them how much pain he was in during surgery. "Just left the operating table and I was awake during the whole procedure," he tweeted Friday, adding the hashtag #OUCH. We wish Nick a speedy and healthy recovery.
